Why you need to support the election of women into political positions
- Politics and governance in Kenya is dominated by the male gender, limiting the national development agenda from benefiting from variety of perspectives, new thinking and approaches. Since it is a widely appreciated fact that men and women think and plan differently, when one gender is left to think for the rest, the country ends up with skewed development plans and approaches as informed by the perspectives and experiences of those making them, the male gender in Kenya’s case.
- To make use of available knowledge, skills and talents of women for improved governance and nation building. Research internationally indicates that organizations which have included more women in their management boards perform much better economically than those that are male dominated.
- In addition, research indicates that, the interests/concerns of children, youth, women and families in development planning are more likely to be taken into consideration by women.

- Women inspire and provide supportive environment for others to better themselves
- For women to exercise their rights as citizens by engaging in and informing decision making at the political level as it affects their lives
